Very nice. She is definitely doing it on purpose :iconteheplz:

Can I ask what those strings are? Is it supposed to be a
赤い糸(red thread)?

OMG. That pixel snob. The one who commented up there? Freakin' hilarious! A bit rude, but you handled that quite politely. :D Well, I, for one, find this incredibly adorable. I actually don't even really know what it was the snob didn't like, because I think the hair looks great. I guess I'd have to hang out around places like Pixellation to get it. :giggle: But seriously, you are amazing at pixel stuff! As though your digital art wasn't amazing enough, you just have to go and be good at another medium? or would it be called a style? I love how much detail you still managed to fit in, especially on Jester's hat.

Way too cute.

hahaha pixel snob :lmao::lmao: acting like she doesn't know what the pixels are to see my reaction and then bam! wall of text :lmao:
i'm glad you like it! i enjoyed making it
i see so many wonderful pixel arts that i wanted to make one with my OCs cause i don't have money to commission pixel artists to do it for me QAQ
i think it's more of a medium than a style, it's a medium within another medium? (digital art) :D

Yup - she just couldn't wait to spring that trap! Silly.
But yes, this is super adorable! Ha, that's actually a great motivation to try it out for yourself - can't commission somebody for it, so you'll just learn how to do it on your own! It seemed to work out pretty well. :D
Yeah, medium makes more sense. I guess it's like a subgroup of digital art, that sounds about right.

There are a lot of dots you put in your hair that you don't put in your other digital works...?

Just an observation

it's a pixel art technique to make gradients without actually using more than 2 colors :D i don't do that in digital art because i use a brush and i paint the gradient

At least among pixel art communities like [link] which has a good number of industry professionals, dithering is hardly used for faking new colors because you can just add a new color to do the same thing without creating dots all over.

There is also a general school of thought developed in communities like these that it's better to avoid making your pixel art look more pixellated than necessary. Pixels don't really appear in real life so hiding it in a sense will get you more realistic results. That means... use dithers sparingly (if at all), avoid banding, especially don't scatter little single pixel dots all over your works unless those dots stand for a very specific and necessary detail. Plus, from what I've seen around some of the art at a place like pixeljoint, antialiasing techniques are actually used more often than dithers (lol look at me using it a hell-of-a-lot). If anything, dithering techniques shouldn't be more emphasized than say... making sure your lines are smoothed out.

well i've seen this technique before and i like it so i used it C: no need to get all worked up about it
if i want realistic results then i can make a regular drawing no? :D

Heh. I just wouldn't call it a 'technique' if it gets results that look kinda funny to me though.

they might look "funny" to you but they look cool to me :) and it doesn't really matter anybody what you call it

I just thought it was something worth bringing up, you know? I guess I learned a bit on how I'm probably overestimating the 'ugliness' of dithering, at least to people who don't hang around places like Pixellation.
